A Review: A VOICE IN THE DARK: GET YOUR GUN #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of A VOICE IN THE DARK: GET YOUR GUN #1 from Image Comics and Top Cow Productions. Larime Taylor writes and draws, and Jay Savage colors.

Zoey is pretty sure she has a stalker. It freaks her out a bit, but she’s been on the other side of it long enough to cope. And when she finally meets him, he seems to be a nice enough guy (other than the serial killer thing, of course). But Zoey and her roomies are also under suspicion for the murders of Mandy and Brock, so Uncle Zeke is taken off the case. And this could have consequences.

If you’re not already a fan of this title, just read the conversation between Zoey and Rio at the coffee shop. The writing in that scene is just amazing – the depth of the conversation (and the context) are a testament to the talent of the writer. He’s also a pretty darn good artist as well, and the addition of color for this series does add a bit of depth to the book.

If you like crime stories, you really should be reading this book. If you have any interest in sociopaths, the book has more than its share. This is a great jumping-on point, so jump on!

A VOICE IN THE DARK: GET YOUR GUN #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
