A Review: JIM HENSON'S THE STORYTELLER: WITCHES #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of JIM HENSON'S THE STORYTELLER: WITCHES #1 from Archaia Entertainment. The story is written and illustrated by S.M. Vidaurri.

The day that a young prince was born, a king cut down the tallest tree in the forest. That angered the lord of the forest. Soon the King and Queen died from poisoned apples. On the eve of the young prince’s coronation, he is kidnapped. The princess must brave the hidden dangers of the forest to find him. Will her love and respect for the forest protect her? Or is someone else looking over our young heroine?

This is such a great little story which features a strong female lead character. Vidaurri’s art is beautiful and I love the way he twists the narrative around objects and the characters.  I enjoyed this issue so much; I read it again several times. It’s THAT good. I can’t recommend this book enough to anyone at any age.

JIM HENSON'S THE STORYTELLER: WITCHES #1 is in stores now, or available for ordering at www.archaia.com.
