A Review: TECH JACKET #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of TECH JACKET #1 from Image Comics. Joe Keatinge writes, Khary Randolph draws and Dave McCaig colors.

Zack has just about the coolest job in the world – he gets to wear an alien battlesuit and beat up scumbags in outer space. He works with his dad, he teleports to a space station every day, and he’s got a hot alien girlfriend. But with all that coolness comes some pretty dangerous stuff, too, and when his girlfriend disappears, he has to go investigate, and that’s when things get really weird.

The first issue of this newly ongoing series gives us a look at the people behind the “Galactic Guardian of Earth.” Zack and his dad are seemingly normal people with normal-people problems, and this helps us relate to them. We also get a glimpse at something sinister that’s starting at home, planting the seed for a future arc. And if you’re a fan of alien goo, the artwork here is sure to please (it’s great either way, really).

A regular guy who works in outer space in a super suit – what could possibly go wrong? This is an exciting space opera in the making. It’s going to be a good one, I think.

TECH JACKET #1 is available now at your FLCS or at imagecomics.com.
