A Review: GRIMM FAIRY TALES #96

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of GRIMM FAIRY TALES #96 from Zenescope Entertainment. Anthony Spay and Nicole Glade write, Sergio Osuna draws and Maxflan Araujo colors.

Helios is one dangerous fellow. His power is uncontrollable, but he realizes this. So he has sought the help of Baba Yaga, who is magically holding his power at bay. Sela finds them and attacks, only to realize that she’s being played. When she changes sides, though, Koschei unleashes a massive attack and Helios is forced to release his power to stop it. But is all of this is just a distraction?

This is a build-up issue for another big Zenescope event, and it looks to be an exciting one. Most of this issue is battle, which is cool; it looks great and it gives everyone a chance for exposition in the fight banter. By the end the bait is set and the hook has been cast. And it all fits together nicely.

I like the way they use the fight to set the stage for the next chapter in the story. It’s more solid work from the Zenescope gang, and I’m ready for the Realm War now.

GRIMM FAIRY TALES #96 is available now at your FLCS or at zenescope.com.
