A Review: ARCHIE COMICS SUPER SPECIAL #5

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of ARCHIE COMICS SUPER SPECIAL #5 from Archie Comics. The stories are by Dan Parent, Tania del Rio and Craig Boldman, with pencils by Bill Galvan, Gisele, del Rio and Rex Lindsey, inks by Rich Koslowski and Jim Amash, colors by Glenn Whitmore, Digikore Studios, and lettering by Jack Morelli, and del Rio.

In “It Starts with a Kiss” and “More Than Words,” The Archies land an opportunity to tour with Josie and the Pussycats. Archie and Valerie decide to write a song as part of the closing jam. A budding romance develops as well. How will the bands respond to this, especially Betty and Veronica?

In “The Great Switcheroo,” Salem gets even with Reggie’s lack of manners by switching the sexes of the gang. Will Reggie…I mean Regina learn his/her lesson? Can Sabrina undo the chaos that Salem has started?

In “Spellfreeze,” Shinji comes to Earth to find out how mortals can live without magic. He soon becomes very popular, especially when he shows off his magic skills. How will she get out of this?

In “The Jughead List,” Veronica’s dad has put together a bucket list of things he wants to do. The list inspires Archie and Jughead to make up their lists. Reggie, has the guys complete THE OTHER’S bucket list.

Archie comics are always fun to read. It’s a great change of pace to the grim, dark stories that dominate most other books. These books are great point of entry for any reader.
