A Review: INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE #10

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE #10 from Image Comics. The story is by Phil Hester, with pencils and inks by Todd Nauck, colors by Andy Troy, and lettering by Rus Wooton.

The day is here: Kid Thor and Knockout’s wedding! Of course things deteriorate and a huge fight breaks out. While at the wedding, Francisco (who is an alcoholic) is tempted by the open bar. He leaves the festivities to meet with his sponsor, but can he stay on the wagon? Will our love birds be able to tie the knot? While all of this is going on, King Lizard put’s his plans into motion.

In my opinion, Hester and Nauck put out a great superhero books. While the “everything goes wrong at a hero’s wedding” is not a new idea, Hester tweaks and gives it a different vibe. I have to mention the great inside joke with the photojournalist and his publisher. I’m sure you’ll get it. I have stated before I love Todd Nauck’s style and it’s so appropriate for the superhero genre. I’m really enjoying this series.

INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE #10 is in stores now, or available to order at www.Imagecomics.com.
