A Review: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES COLOR CLASSICS #3

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES COLOR CLASSICS #3 from IDW Publishing. The story and pencils are by Peter Laird, with inks by Jim Lawson, colors by Tom Smith’s Scorpion Studios, and lettering is by Steve Lavigne. The story was originally published by Mirage Studios as TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #15

Casey Jones, Raphael and Michaelangelo are in a comic book store checking out back issues when they are suddenly attacked by little robots. To their amazement, our heroes are aided by the store owner and stocker, who turn out to be former members of the super hero team The Justice Force. The guys find out that The Justice Force’s old nemesis Dr. Dome is behind the attack, and the team must reform to take him down. The Turtles and Casey offer to help The Force, but why after all of this time has Dr. Dome reappeared to destroy his long-since retired enemies?

This story is action packed and fun with a little humor; a total blast to read.  It's great to see the classic tales reprinted, but still not sure why to color the art. At any rate, this is a total get for TMNT fans young and old.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES COLOR CLASSICS #3 is in stores now, or available to order at www.IDWPublishing.com.
