A Review: STAR WARS #13

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of BAD BLOOD #1 from Dark Horse Comics. The story is by Brian Wood, with pencils Facundo Percio, inks by Dan Parsons, colors by Gabe Eltaeb, and lettering by Michael Heisler.

Darth Vader has put together a team consisting of six elite Stormtroopers and an ensign for a special, secret mission. The mission is so secret that not even the Emperor knows about it. Vader is seeking revenge on Colonel Bircher - the Rebel spy who recently embarrassed him. And no one should stand in his way…

The story is told from the perspective of Ensign Nanda. She is scared about being a part of this mission, and more importantly, earning Vader’s wrath, but she presses on (like she had a choice). You definitely feel for her as she witnesses things that would frighten the highest ranking Imperial officer. Nanda is the latest in strong female characters Brian Wood has introduce to the Star Wars galaxy (after Birrah Seah and Perla) which is a good thing to see.

STAR WARS #13 is in stores now, or available to order at www.Darkhorse.com.
