A Review: GUARDIANS #0

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of GUARDIANS #0 from Black Magic Wolf Productions. The story is by Todd Black, with art by Chue Eng Chee, and colors by Alex Garcia.

Delta City is a futuristic city that draws the best and the brightest to live and create better tomorrow, but also has more than its share of crime. Then as if a prayer answered, two beings with super powers arrived to help save the city. The first “brother” is Element who has the ability to create and control fire, ice, and lightning. The second, Chaos, controls the power and energy of darkness. Their sole purpose is defend the city, but cannot communicate with the citizens because they don’t know how. What the brothers do not know is they are about to be put to the test.

I have my curiosity piqued as this is more than the usual superheroes saving the day. The thing that popped out to me is the mentioning of “the maker.” Are we talking about God, or could the Guardians be manmade? It’s also interesting that Element and Chaos don’t have the skills to truly interact with the citizens…yet. That is something that can be built upon. Nice solid work by all involved and I’m willing to give this series a chance.
