A Review: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES NEW ANIMATED ADVENTURES #3

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES NEW ANIMATED ADVENTURES #3 from IDW Publishing. The story is by Scott Tipton and David Tipton, and the script is by Scott Tipton and David Tipton, with Kenny Byerly. The art is by Dario Brizuela, colors by Heather Breckel, and lettering by Shawn Lee.

The turtles are in the middle of watching a zombie marathon when they give up and go to bed. Unfortunately Michelangelo can’t sleep (scared maybe?) and decides to go skateboarding. He encounters what could be zombies and runs home to alert the guys. Master Splinter forces the turtles to investigate as it would be bad to ignore a warning. Have our heroes run into a zombie invasion, or something more diabolical?

I’ve never watched or read the animated, lighter version of the turtles, just the original material or the more recent books. I really enjoyed the light-hearted, fun and humor of the issue. I would put this series on the list to start the youngsters into reading comics, although anyone will enjoy it.
