A Review: WARLORD OF MARS #26

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of WARLORD OF MARS #26 from Dynamite Comics. The story is by Arvid Nelson, illustrated by Everton Sousa, colors by Thiago Ribeiro, and lettering by Marshall Dillon.

There is peace on Barsoom (Mars)…temporarily. The League of Barsoom is about to be torn apart and war is imminent. Tars Tarkas’ people are accused of attacking other races on the planet. John Carter takes it upon himself to maintain peace and solve the puzzle of who is truly responsible for the attacks. The mystery deepens as concubine who claims she knows the truth goes to Carter for protection, but winds up dead.  Will war erupt between the races of Mars?

What we have here is the beginning of a very intriguing mystery with possible political overtones. It will be interesting to see how John Carter, a Civil War veteran, deals with the potential of a civil war on Mars. I hope this story arc is not resolved quickly because the story possibilities are too good.
