A Review: SKYWARD #1

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of SKYWARD #1 from Action Lab Comics. Jeremy Dale writes and draws.

Quinn is a good kid. He’s got wonderful, loving parents, a great dog, and a happy life. What he doesn’t know is that his father used to be a great warrior who has now chosen a life of peace. And Dad has an old associate who wants him back, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get him. Now Quinn is on the run, and he’s scared and angry.

This is a classic story opener, of course; young person forced into running for his life and the adventures he or she faces along the way. This issue doesn’t get far enough to give us a hint as to where Quinn is going, but I like that. Right now the story is wide open, and that adds to the excitement. And we’ve got a pretty mean and treacherous bad guy too.

I like where this story is going, and the art is really good. If you dig fantasy or even just “farm boy” stories, this is a good one to check out. It’s got a lot of potential.

SKYWARD #1 is available now at your FLCS or by order at actionlabcomics.com.
