A Review: GHOSTBUSTERS #16

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of GHOSTBUSTERS #16 from IDW Comics. The story is by Erik Burnham with art by Dan Schoening and colors by Luis Antonio Delgado.

With the holidays here, the guys are trying to take some time off. While doing some Christmas shopping, Winston proposes to Tiyah. The happy couple goes back to the station and tells the gang the good news when the spirit of a young boy appears and asks for help. Just as quickly as he appears, he is grabbed by a hand of a ghost. The guys suit up and try to locate where the spirit was taken. When they arrive, Winston heads first to the home and gets trapped behind a spectral wall. He discovers that the spirit behind this is his old drill instructor – Staff Sergeant Adams. Can Winston defeat him, save the boy spirit and get back to his fiancĂ©e for their trip to Connecticut?

This was a cool little story by Burnham that gives Winston Zeddemore a chance to be in the spotlight. I like Schoening’s art as well.  You see the likeness of the actors, but he goes more into an animated feel instead of being more photo-realistic. We may never get another movie with these characters, but we have this series, and that’s not a bad thing.
