A Review: G.I.JOE: A REAL AMERICA HERO #180

The Fellowship was fortunate enough to obtain a copy of G.I.JOE: A REAL AMERICA HERO #180 from IDW Publishing. The story is written by Larry Hama with art by S L Gallant.

Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Stalker must infiltrate the confines of the San Diego Convention Center during Comic-Con to stop an exchange of nuclear codes from happening.  Meanwhile, Destro reveals to the Baroness the reason why he gave the Joes the tip regarding the meeting at the convention.

I knew this would be a humorous issue with the Joes having to infiltrate the San Diego Comic Con and wasn’t disappointed. There was a nice, touching scene between Snake Eyes and a security guard who is a veteran. Scarlett having to deal with a cosplayer dressed as Optimus Prime will have you laughing a lot. As someone who hasn’t really read the book before, there were a few scenes that I didn’t get because they referred to other events. That being said, it was an entertaining read, and can’t wait to see how this story arc ends.

G.I.JOE: A REAL AMERICA HERO #180 is in comic stores and available at www.idwpublishing.com.
